Meet Burke! This big, sweet red boy came to us from a local shelter. Burke is approximately 3 years old and weighs in at 67 lbs.. He is a very sweet, loving, easygoing kind of guy. Burke is current on vaccinations, neutered and heartworm negative.
Foster Update 6/20/08:
Burke is doing great after his surgery and has truly settled into life in a house. He is crate trained, but I leave him out with my dog during the day and at night he sleeps in my large bathroom. He LOVES water, walks and attention. He gets along great with other large dogs and is really looking for another dog to wrestle with. He is very playful with my kids and loves to play chase. I have not seen any of the food aggression in over 2 months. I think that maybe he went for period of time without food and now realizes that it is no longer an issue. Burke will easily share licking the ice cream bowl with my dog and gently takes treats from your hand. He is very eager to please and will melt in your hand when you are petting him.Burke will make a great addition to any home without cats
Foster Update 4/5/08:
Burke underwent surgery to fix a bone spur and arthritis in his right hip. The surgery went well and Burke is slowly recovering. He will need continued physical therapy to build up the muscles in the leg. He will never be a marathon runner, but he loves going on short walks and riding in cars. He also loves swimming and playing with his foster brother.Burke is a sweet dog, but should not be in a house with cats or small dogs. He is doing great on house training and is crate trained. He knows his basic commands and is your typical Velcro golden. He just loves to lay at your feet. I believe that Burke was left outside a lot and is making up for all the lack of attention in the past. He only chews on dog toys and no longer counter surfs.Burke would make a great addition to any family.
