Toby is a five year old boy adopted from GBGRR as a puppy (he was one of Elsa’s 15 pups). Unfortunately, a member of his family who adopted him has a serious and costly illness and the family reluctantly had to return him to us.    Toby is heartworm negative, neutered and current on vaccinations..  Toby began having seizures about 2 months ago and has had 3 during that time period.  We have him on medication (Phenobarbital, an inexpensive drug which costs less than $10/month) for 5 days and he has not had a seizure for 2 weeks. We’re hopeful this medication will control the seizures on a long term basis. He has a mild skin allergy, which may be taken care of with a change in diet and baths with medicated shampoo. 

Toby is a very affectionate boy who gets along well with other dogs. He came from a home with a cat and had no problems. He’s shown some interest in the two cats in his foster home, but has not been aggressive toward them. Toby is the typical “Velcro” golden who constantly wants to be by your side. He is housebroken, good on a leash and loves his morning walks. Toby will be a wonderful companion for just about any type of family. He had a summer cut when he came to us and is medium gold when his coat is grown out. The first picture was taken about 6 months ago and shows him with a longer coat and the other pictures are with his summer cut. Toby also likes to watch TV. The last picture is from this weekend while we were watching “Homeward Bound”. Toby is standing on his back legs to get a better look at Shadow, the golden retriever in the movie.
