Sadly, sweet old Ethel passed on to the Rainbow Bridge today. She was a wonderful older lady and we were privileged to have her end her days with us. Even though she was was only with us a short while, she became a beloved member of the family in every way.  Rest well and peacefully sweet girl.

Meet Miss Ethel!  Miss Ethel is a 13 year old red girl rescued from a local shelter.  She was terrified at the shelter and obviously had been neglected as she was covered in fleas, her ears and eyes were nasty, mats, very long toe nails, and she is heartworm positive.  However, a bath, good food, a warm bed and lots of TLC has really perked her up.   She does have some arthritis is her rear legs and moves slowly and getting up is sometimes a challenge for her.  We hope getting her on some proper medications may ease her arthritis.   Despite her physical problems, she has a great heart and goofy smile. She craves attention and groans with contentment while being rubbed on her tummy.  When you quit rubbing her belly, she will paw you to continue.

Since she is a bit limited in mobility,  she is apprehensive when other dogs get close to her.  Ethel's current foster home has several other doggies and she is becoming more tolerant of the other dogs as she is beginning to trust them and they are becoming less curious about her, but four other active dogs is not the ideal environment for her at this stage of her life.

Ethel is current on vaccinations and spayed.  Watch for more to come on this lady!
